iOS Developer (4–5 Years) — Contract
Company: Tech Avenue Employment Type: Contract (6 months, extendable) Location: Onsite, Islamabad
About Tech Avenue
Founded in 2018, Tech Avenue helps clients envision, design, and deliver technology solutions that unlock their business potential. We build market-defining, high-quality products that create real value and competitive advantage for our clients.
About the Role
You'll be joining the iOS team on an AI-driven management platform. The product combines an event-driven microservices with mobile apps used directly on construction sites — where connectivity is unreliable, media capture is constant, and workflows often involve voice and real-time updates. This isn't a typical CRUD app; you'll be building for field conditions as much as for polish.
We're looking for an iOS Developer with 4–5 years of native development experience to own features end to end — from design through App Store release. You'll work in Swift across UIKit and SwiftUI, and you'll be expected to write clean, scalable code, debug hard problems, and communicate clearly with a cross-functional team. Prior experience mentoring juniors or leading a module is a strong plus.
What You'll Do
- -Build, test, and maintain production iOS applications using Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI
- -Design app architecture that stays maintainable as the product grows (MVVM, Clean Architecture, or similar)
- -Integrate REST and real-time (WebSocket) APIs, third-party SDKs, and local persistence layers
- -Implement offline-first data flows: local caching, queued writes, and sync/conflict resolution for intermittent connectivity
- -Build media-heavy features: camera capture, large/resumable media uploads, document and drawing viewing (PDF/image annotation), and efficient image loading for large galleries
- -Integrate voice capture/streaming features.
- -Implement location-aware features (GPS tagging, geofencing)
- -Profile and optimize performance, memory, responsiveness, and battery usage
- -Write unit and UI tests, and participate in code reviews
- -Manage releases through TestFlight and App Store Connect
- -Partner with backend, design, QA, and product to turn requirements into shipped features, and work closely with the backend team to align on an evolving API Gateway contract
- -Mentor junior developers and share knowledge across the team
What You'll Need
Experience
- -Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- - 4–5 years of professional native iOS development, with production apps shipped to the App Store
Technical
- -Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, and the native iOS SDK
- -iOS app lifecycle, Auto Layout, Storyboards/XIBs, and reusable UI components
- -Architectural patterns: MVVM, MVC, or Clean Architecture
- -Concurrency: Swift Concurrency, async/await, and GCD
- -Memory management: ARC, retain cycles, and performance tuning
- -Networking and data: URLSession, WebSockets, --JSON, Codable, Core Data, UserDefaults, Keychain
- -Offline-first design: local caching, background sync, retry/reconciliation strategies
- -Media handling: camera capture, image/video compression, chunked or resumable uploads, PDF/document rendering
- -Testing and debugging: XCTest, Xcode, Instruments
- -Release engineering: App Store Connect, TestFlight, provisioning profiles, certificates
- -Platform fundamentals: push notifications, deep linking, background tasks, location services, permissions, biometric auth (Face ID/Touch ID), and iOS security basics
- -Git and collaborative development workflows
Collaboration
- -Explains technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- -Takes ownership of features and delivers them on time
- -Gives and receives constructive feedback well
- -Approaches problems analytically and contributes actively to team decisions
- -Comfortable working against an API surface that evolves alongside an active backend build-out
Nice to Have
- -Experience as a Technical Lead or mentoring iOS developers
- -CI/CD for iOS using Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or Jenkins
