Job Summary
Tech Avenue is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HR Business Partner (HRBP) to help lead the day-to-day management of the HR department. Reporting directly to the Director – HR, the HRBP acts as a key coordination point between the HR function and senior management, and takes ownership of core HR processes across the employee lifecycle — from recruitment through employee relations and compliance. This role is well suited to an HR professional with 2–3 years of hands-on generalist experience who is ready to take on broader departmental and people-management responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
HR Department Management & Coordination
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the HR department, ensuring processes run smoothly and on schedule.
- Coordinate directly with higher/senior management on HR strategy, policy decisions, and business-critical people matters.
- Provide internal management and guidance across HR functions and staff.
- Report directly to the Director – HR on HR initiatives, metrics, daily matters and departmental performance.
Core HR Process Implementation
Implement and conduct, on a timely basis, HR processes and practices including but not limited to:
- Recruitment, hiring, orientation, and training
- HRIS data management and reporting
- Benefits administration and employee compensation
- Conflict resolution, investigations, and corrective action processes
- Safety, workers' compensation, leave, and unemployment processes
Coverage, Compliance & Confidentiality
- Fill in for the HR Manager and/or HR department staff as requested, handling all matters in a professional and confidential manner.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable employment, health, and safety laws and regulations, as well as Tech Avenue's policies and practices.
- Support a healthy workplace culture and contribute to the organization's employee retention goals.
Talent Sourcing & Campus Recruitment
- Network with potential hires through professional groups and social media platforms.
- Host and participate in job fairs.
- Liaise with universities to plan and support campus recruitment drives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a generalist or HR Business Partner capacity.
- Solid working knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and industry best practices.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms, HR data management, and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating recruitment, onboarding, and training programs.
- Familiarity with benefits administration, compensation processes, workers' compensation, and leave management.
- Experience handling employee relations issues, workplace investigations, and corrective action processes.
